(sadhana from illusion to brahman)
There is a very famous verse of Rigveda “Ek sad vipra bahudha vadanti “truth is one , scholars call in many way . The meaning of saying is that the destination is the same, but the ways to reach it may be different. If yoga is the destination then there can be many ways to reach there.Beacause of this friendship of paths, sometimes we call yoga by many names and find differences in it . Jnana Yoga, Bhakti yoga, Karma yoga, Hatha yoga, Ashtanga yoga, Kundalini yoga and many other modern popular names are like this.By whatever name or defination you may know yoga, its purpose is the same -to become one with the real conscious self.
The history of yoga is very ancient. Yogeswar Shri Krishna himself says to Arjuna in gita “This yoga that I am telling you , was said many times, then disappeared and then appeared again”.With the flow of time, the yoga tradition kept moving forward.By the time the current period came, two streams of yoga. These two are very popular in western countries also.Along with fame ,many types of confusions also arose regarding both the methods of meditation. Todays yoga practitioners are seen talking about both, but state of confusion regarding the essence between them can be clearly seen in them. This chapter has been prepared with the aim of deepening the understanding of Ashtanga Yoga and Hatha Yoga.
